Right Wine Cooler for Your Wine Collection

Wine coolers are the best for the aging solutions of wines. Aside from sustaining the needed light exposure, temperature, and humidity, they are also very essential in the expansion of your wine collection.

There are many wine coolers available on the market. You may consider purchasing a large cooler or a refrigerator if you are into wine collecting. You may even set up a large cooler to ensure more space for your age-worthy wines.

Art of Wine Tasting.

Coolers come in different sizes. You may find coolers that can hold hundreds of bottles and cases. Manufacturers of coolers always think that there is the possibility that a normal collector may end up as a serious wine collector. For a serious collector, it is important to find the latest available wine coolers.

Countertop wine cellars are accessible in storing bulk wines. If you have enough space available in the kitchen or in your room, there are many wine shelving options you can choose from. You may customize your storing and aging room as well as your coolers with a variety of wine racks and accessories.

Tasting Room Etiquette

In a winery's tasting room, white wines are generally tasted first, followed by reds, and then dessert wines. Within these categories, lighter-bodied wines preceed fuller-bodied ones. Water and crackers may be offered to cleanse the palate between each wine. Correct wine etiquette does not require that you must finish every glass. Winery tasting rooms provide jars to dispose of excess wine. Do not feel that you need to sample every wine offered- taste what appeals to you.

Space can be an issue for many collectors. They find it difficult to find the right coolers that will fit to the design and space of the storage place. It is advisable to purchase a stainless steel refrigerator if all your appliances in the kitchen are all stainless. They can provide the place with order and great fusion of styles and functions.

Wine refrigerators are very effective to special wine bottles that are used for aging wines. Collectors who live in places with hot and cold climates may find it hard to sustain the needed temperature. A wine refrigerator can take care of these problems. It is also capable of shielding your wines from light exposure and humidity swings.

Some wine fridges may be too expensive. Some are priced $300 at Costco. You may find cheaper wine coolers for $150, but it can only store 34 wine bottles. For those who would like to find a remedy for their problems with space and budget may convert their mini refrigerator to a wine cooler.

However, you may encounter problems of temperature sustainability because mini fridges tend to get too cold and are mostly used in freezing and not for cooling. Others adjust the setting of the thermostat to get the temperature just enough to cool the wines. You may use an appliance timer or a thermometer to create your own cycle of temperature on the refrigerator according to the desired cooling for the bottles.

If you ask for a second tasting of a particular wine, it is in good taste to buy a bottle. Many wineries charge tasting fees which are generally applied to any purchase. It is not mandatory that you buy wine; purchase only what you desire. That being said, if you have made an appointment at a small winery, it is in good taste to make a purchase.

6 Ways to Make Your Next Trip to Yosemite Better

Thu, 28 Aug 2008 21:04:49 PDT
I meet a lot of people who are vacationing in Yosemite for their first time and I’m always amazed by the level of disappointment they feel with their vacation. With that in mind I came up with 6 things that’ll help make your Yosemite vacation better. 1. Visit in the off season. 9 out of 10 people I talk to always complain about the crowds. “There are so many people here!” Believe it or not most of the visitors to the park schedule their vacations in June, July and August. Those are the 3 worst

There is a particular section at work that seems to defeat most people. I haven’t been working in this restaurant for terribly long and already I’ve seen more people come and go, than any other place I’ve worked in. The latest casualty, was a bit of a surprise to us all, considering he was a lovely guy and seemed to be going really well. One morning when he was supposed to be in for a shift, he rang up saying he didn’t want to work here anymore because he wasn’t enjoying it. What happens wh

Hiking in the Texas Hill Country No Comments Posted By: Alison Osborne Topics: Cheap and free things to do, Hiking Hiking is one of my favorite recreational activities. It isn’t just about great exercise, either. Hiking provides an opportunity to clear your head and enjoy a great conversation. You can marvel at the natural world and retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What’s more, you can find something “walkable” almost anywhere you go and it’s absolutely free! M

Episode Two: Be Careful What You Wish For So sat Theresa, marooned on an isle in the middle of the lobby, alone with her Blackberry and her wishes, without a back-up plan in sight. The old man mopped the last area around Theresa?s feet, but she was too absorbed in her Blackberry to notice. He finally stopped, leaned on his mop and stared down at her, in a not unfriendly fashion. Theresa felt his gaze and looked up. She said, ?Yes?? and he continued to look at her. Theresa said again, ?Yes??

The Greeks of Burundi

Thu, 28 Aug 2008 14:28:36 PDT
There’s a Greek deli in central Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. It’s hard to overstate how odd this is. Burundi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Bujumbura, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, is… basic. The roads are mostly unpaved. Much of it has no electricity; the parts that do, are subject to regular blackouts. Armed militia groups still lurk in the hills just a few miles from the city. Malaria and yellow fever are issues. But, you know, Greek deli. Black and green olives fl
